Background:
Natanya GarciaGraduating with honors from one of the most prominent law schools in the Philippines, Natanya was one of the 16% to sucessfully pass the Philippine Bar Exams that year. As a result of her academic record she was chosen to summer with the affiliate law firm of the American firm Baker & McKenzie and was accepted as consultant to the chairman of the country's largest pension fund. Before immigrating to Canada she worked with Rodrigo, Buerenger and Guno LLP, a well-known and respected Philippine law firm, focusing primarily on business law. She then applied to and was accepted to the Master of Laws program at McGill University where her thesis on the Digital Milennium Copyright Act was nominated for the Dean's award. Before coming to join Aydin Bird she completed her Articles with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin where she worked with the Securities and Technology group focusing mainly on private placements, venture capital financing, merger and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, cross-border transactions and intellectual property issues.
