Background:
Kirsten JenkinsKirsten Jenkins joined Aydin Bird in March 2011. Kirsten’s practice is primarily focused on estate planning, trusts and estate administration. Having worked in both private practice and at a leading Canadian financial institution as a consultant to high net worth individuals, Kirsten brings a wealth of experience to her practice. She takes a holistic approach to estate planning and wealth management and works together with her clients and their advisors to ensure that their planning is comprehensive and meets the specific circumstances and objectives of the clients.
As part of her practice, she advises clients on matters relating:
• Wills and trusts (including family, testamentary trusts, insurance trusts, Henson trusts)
• Business succession
• Incapacity planning including powers of attorney, representation agreements, guardianship and specific planning for individuals with disabilities
• Administration of estates and probate
• Trust administration
• Disputes regarding trusts and estates including Wills Variation Act claims

Work Experience:
Kirsten started her career at a major local law firm specializing in estate planning, estate administration and related areas including trusts, charitable giving, and adult guardianship. She then worked for RBC Dominion Securities for 5 and a half years as an estate planning consultant advising their high net worth clients before joining Aydin Bird.
Kirsten is a member and past Chair of the Vancouver Wills & Trusts Subsection of the Canadian Bar Association. She is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Vancouver Estate Planning Council and past member of the Succession Law Reform Project. In addition, Kirsten is currently the Chair of the Vancouver Community College Foundation.
Over the years, Kirsten has been a regular lecturer for professional and industry related groups. She has also authored a number of articles and publications in the area of estate planning and administration.
Kirsten is happily married and has two young children. Her hobbies include running, swimming, golf and gardening.
